Brunetti on Faraday

P1170271a
A small section (1/10th) of Brunetti's showcase of yummy desserts.

Two years ago, Yi lived in an apartment next to Brunetti on Faraday St, off Lygon St. , Carlton. Everyday when we left the apartment, we walked past tables on the sidewalk where people sat and ate beautiful desserts and the aroma of good coffee was, clichely, intoxicating. As usual, I tended not to enjoy something until it's not available, and never really found time to enjoy Brunetti except for a quick breakfast.

Of the 3 Brunetties in Melbourne, this one has the most assortment of cakes, slices, cookies, chocolates, you-name-it desserts. In fact, in all my visits to Perth, Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, I've not come across any other restaurant with such an amazing mix of beautiful, quality desserts and cakes.

Yi and friends bought this Brunetti chocolate cake with cherries cream and white chocolate frosting for a friend's wedding. We got hold of some roses and stuck them into the cake. I think it looks pretty and romantic.

  7. Pretty miraculous how I didn't gain much that time, staying right beside Brunetti's! Good thing I was going thru a rough patch then, and lost interest in food... or maybe it was bcoz I hadn't gotten to know Alan at that time, who introduced me to the world of coffee and desserts *GRIN
