My friend CY was exploring the Marin Headlands with her friend and I had a whole afternoon in Sausalito, north of San Francisco while waiting for them.
Sausalito is a small town, only one street long with stores on both sides and houses on the hills behind it. I guess it must be a place for retirees and people with money. While Carmel is quaint and pretty, Sausalito is more my kind of place. I like the openness, the long waterfront that stretches unendingly, the houses on the hills and the views of SF and the surrounding area. I took a slow long walk up the hills and some of the views were like those on cross-stitch pictures! Instead of big chain stores,TGIF-kind of restaurants or big H & Ms, there were little boutiques and restaurants and souvenir stores that sell pretty, one-of-a-kind trinkets.
The weather was in the 60s, it was cloudy and I was alone for the first time on the trip. I wouldn't have enjoyed myself as much if I had not gone up the hills for a walk. I met a couple of very nice folks, and the views of the area and the houses were just so comfortable and--I can't think of a better word--nice.

There was a long queue at 737 Hamburger, so I lined up for one (USD6.80) and ate it at the park. I thought maybe finally I'd get a burger that taste like those that Adam in Man Vs Food always eats. It was disappointing. The wood-flame grilled burger was dry and not as flavorful as I expected.
